Postcards emerged in the UK during the late-nineteenth century - their images and personal connections provide a rich visual record of people and places.
The Lynsted with Kingsdown Society archive has been made possible because of the generosity of many people who have idenified individual postcards or shared larger collections with us.
We have also been shown historically interesting images of nearby places. Rather than lose those items, we have chosen to include them here as they certainly give a flavour of how people lived and worked in our communities or nearby communities.
We have provided slide-shows in broad categories (left) for your enjoyment (images have been cropped in some cases). Be patient. Pages may be slow to load if your connection is slow.
The images, below, give you a 'taster' of the collection.
