Fire damaged these two cottages in 2004. Bishops Cottages once sported an immensely steep slide roof with peg tiles covering. Until 2003 this provided the spectacular backdrop to a magnificent Christmas lights display in aid of charitable causes. There used to be three cottages but a German bomb in the second world war levelled the third cottage (to the right of this pair).
