The Churches Conservation Trust is the national body responsible for the care of redundant Anglican churches in England. All our churches are open to the public and we encourage events such as this concert, that raise public awareness of our work and help us to raise funds to keep the churches in repair. Kingsdown is the only known Anglican church by the Victorian architect Edward Welby Pugin, and has been in the care of the Trust since 1989. It is one of a total of 330 churches in our care. Further information is available on their website.
The Galliard Trio has been established for 23 years and has a reputation of presenting programmes of great variety. Its repertoire is wide, partly because of the different combinations of instruments available and partly because of its arrangements of music from the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The trio is based in north London but the members travel widely raising funds for good causes, including The Churches Conservation Trust.
