Sallie and David Shaw are a friendly and enthusiastic couple who have for several years been running the Wildlife Accreditation Scheme for the Swale area.  Through this scheme, owners can receive free advice on how to make simple changes to their gardens that would make them more attractive to wildlife.  They can, if they wish, have their garden assessed by a wildlife specialist - to see how well they are doing!  Elizabeth Care, one of the assessors, will be on hand to explain more.

Sallie assures us that we are not talking ‘TV makeover’ here! Even quite small adjustments, if of a suitable type, can make a big difference, without spoiling the manicured excellence of your garden!

These days many species are in decline. Collectively, our gardens are increasing in value as a buffer against extinction and a haven for fauna under pressure.  We must do what we can  - and this evening supplied some valuable know-how.
