In correspondence with a visitor to the website (who went to school in Rodmersham Green, but now lives in Canada) - our Chairman has recently found a modern map that identifies the position of a Gunsite with what appears to be four placements. The site is now occupied by a Fireworks manufacturer!:

Just wondering if some of your older members remember the directional finder at the Spicer Farm in Kingsdown.
It was a wooden tower surrounded by a wooden fence that was well apart from the tower.
My father was the wireless operator for this set-up,he being in a mobile truck some distance away in a corner of a meadow,complete with his own slit trench.
The whole idea was to offer directions for the night fighters in the area.
And believe me they knew it was there, as the odd straddle of bombs was forthcoming.
