Capturing the heritage of our Parish

REPORT: Second Society Heritage Open Day in Lynsted Church
that took place on 11th June 2011

We had a steady stream of people join us and made some important and some surprising discoveries with the help of our visitors.  We also projected a 25 minute photo-animation using several images from last year’s Heritage Day - this proved popular throughout the day, accompanied by some delicious cakes with tea and coffee.

In particular, we focused on two important themes in the history of the Parish:

• How the Parish Celebrated Royal Occasions - this book was launched at our AGM in November 2012, and
• Our Parish in Wartime - when we hope to document our war memorials, the people remembered there, and the stories behind those names.  If you have any information that might be included in our Publication, please contact us.

Or material on what was happening in the Parish during any wartime period, or stories of what you or family members were doing?
