The Society Committee would welcome your opinion on an event with a difference!
Alex Probyn - Master Tea Blender - has offered to run a tea-tasting for the Society and guests. The event would:
- take place on a Saturday
- last between 2.5 and 3 hours with a break for refreshment
- We would hear about the history, origins and manufacture of tea.
- Teas tasted would include white/green/oolong, black and (after the break) herbal teas.
- We would be guided through creating our own Society black tea blend (perhaps a competition).
- Everyone taking part would then be sent a 125 gram packet of the Society blend (you could order further supplies direct from Alex if you wanted and the Society could sell or order them at future events).
The price per head would be £13 (Members £10). This is a significant discount on Alex’s usual charge of £49 per head when he runs these events in London.
To help us gauge the level of interest, please e-mail us at teataster@lynsted.com or visit the Society website to learn more.
