THE CHURCHYARD MONUMENTAL INSCRIPTIONS BOOKLET will be available at our Christmas Party!

 Keeping you updated

The Committee is pleased to announce the completion of a booklet that records the inscriptions of gravestones to be found surrounding the Church of SS Peter and Paul, Lynsted.  This has been a major undertaking spread over more than two years led by the Society to create an authoritative record for future generations.

This project is important as the years have taken their toll on the legibility of many of those stones that will continue to weather.

A5 booklets, containing a map and text of those inscriptions can be purchased at the Society’s Christmas Party.  Should you wish to buy a copy later, we shall print to order - at £2.50 (plus P&P: UK=85p; overseas = £2.45). Alternatively, we plan to publish the A5 booklet on-line as a PDF that you can download free and print your own copy if you wish.  After the party, you will also be able to view the full records on the Society’s web site, with corresponding photographs.  Orders for printed copies of the A5 booklet can be made by first contacting us when we will confirm the postal address and payment method.

Next year, an archival A4 copy (bound and including illustrations) will be lodged in the Church for reference by visitors.
