Dates for Your Diary

Winter beckons so our events are moving indoors.

  • 21 December: Members Only: The third year in this wonderful house for our extremely popular Christmas Carols and an open fire with mulled wine and seasonal fayre.  Your confirmation slips need to be with Amanda Strevens by Wednesday 14th.
  • Late January, John Jackson and Nigel plan to produce some material to help with bird-watching and counting to check the health of our local bird populations.  All offers of help gratefully received.
  • NEW: 1st February 2006: Fruit growing in Kent with a speaker from Brogdale. This will be held at the Greenstreet Methodist Hall - just up Lynsted Lane from the A2.
  • March: Ancient Farm Buildings
  • May: Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty: Walk centred on Torrey Hill
  • June: Heritage Walk led by Peter Bell.  We want to identify two distinctive buildings in the Parish for Peter to sleuth and describe to Members. We should be glad of volunteers to have their house included in this walkabout.
  • 1st July: Pugin trip to Ramsgate - to learn more about the men behind our own Pugin masterpiece - Kingsdown Church. We are pleased that the Society can again benefit from the vintage double-decker bus cared for and driven by David Powell

There are other events run by the Kent History Federation - noted on the events page.  Our Society is affiliated, so Members of our Society can take part.
