THE SOCIETY WOULD LIKE YOUR HELP KEEPING TRACK OF BIRD SPECIES IN OUR PARISH
If you can spare an hour on either 28 or 29 January to count birds in your garden while drinking a cup or two of tea or coffee? Please consider taking part in the RSPB - Bird Watch
After you have submitted your list to the RSPB, please also send us an e-mail with your list of birds and numbers spotted so we can start to get a picture of what birds we have in the Parish. Thank you.

- 1 February: “Fruit Growing in Kent”: At the Greenstreet Methodist Hall in Lynsted Lane (near London Road). A talk entitled 'The National Fruit Collection at Brogdale' to be given by Peter Griffiths of Brogdale National Fruit Collection.
- 10th February: 19.30pm: The Orchard Group invite Society Members to a meeting with Shirley Thompson of the Kent Bat Group - in the Lynsted Church Community Room. The meeting is to hear about the results so far from the Lynsted bat group, what they mean, what further study can be done. If you are interested, please let the Chairman know.
- 15th March: “Ancient Farm Buildings”: Ray Harrison (retired Architectural Conservation Officer) will talk on 'Historic Barns of Kent'. Venue and details to follow.
- June: Heritage Walk led by Peter Bell. We want to identify two distinctive buildings in the Parish for Peter to sleuth and describe to Members. We should be glad of volunteers to have their house included in this walkabout - we do have one volunteer in the Claxfield Lane side of the Parish, so another nearby would be great. Otherwise we can explore with Peter whether this works for him.
- 8th April (Saturday): Conducted Walk in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty:Guided Tour, led by Richard Moyse from the Kent Wildlife Trust. Roughly 4 miles, in the Doddington area. Ending at a pub for lunch
