Old Post Office, Lynsted

David Bage tells us: "The old Post Office (which was also a general store and is now known as Post Cottage) finished trading in the eighties. Out of interest, the blacksmith's sister also had a shop in the blacksmith's house (now Forge House) in the early part of the century.  The Forge (now part of Forge Cottage) itself ceased to function c.1921 although intermittently a shop continues in Forge House, until the fifties."

The Store and Post Office as it appeared around 1928.  Now converted to residential use like so many commercial premises throughout the Parish.  I have no idea what the vehicle is.

Lynsted Post office circa. 1928
