Albert Millen having died in 1886, the property passed into the hands of trustees, Edward Charles Millen, brother to Albert, hay dealer, and William Roper Dixon, farmer, both of Lynsted. George Alfred Filmer, butcher, of Lynsted, bought the property at auction. Purchase price: £750. The auction was arranged when Albert Millen’s eldest son, also Albert, reached the age of 21.
