20th April | 7pm for 7.30pm prompt start: Society Quiz Night - Lloyd Bowen, quizmaster. Table Bookings by Members Only - non-Members welcome as team members. £96 per table of up to 8 people. This includes a fish and chip supper. Raffle-prize donations gratefully received. Money raised will go to Swale Volunteer Transport Scheme and Befriending Service. 8th May | 8pm: Archaeology of the Teynham Triton. A presentation by Dr Richard Helm, leading archaeologist, will illustrate and interpret the astonishing excavations beside the A2 in Teynham surrounding the rare Triton statute. |
18th May | 7.30pm: Jazz Evening in Lynsted Church with the Andy Bennett Quintet. An evening of classic jazz numbers. Relaxed, cafe-style seating....bring your own drinks and nibbles. 29th June | 10.30am: Walking Tour of Faversham with Bob Baxter who is a Faversham Society Guide. On a Saturday morning and costing £5 per head. |
7th July | 2-4pm: Farm Walk. Kingsdown Farm. A meadow and farm walk followed by tea and cake. Details to follow. |
4th September | Sue Lamberton talk about London Silkewomen and post-Black-Death girl power. |
23rd October | Islands of the Medway Estuary - Adam Taylor will describe the once inhabited islands, their history, flora and fauna, with abandoned forts and a German submarine! |
8th November | 7.30pm: Short AGM, followed by "The Olympics" - a talk by the Chairman of the Olympic Association, Sir Hugh Robertson. |
