Marble kerb with leaded lettering and crossed orbs on square base at each corner. Mason's name on SW corner stone: Millen & Co Faversham

East Kent Gazette, 15th July 1916: DEATHS: DENCE.- July 3rd, suddenly at Lynsted, near Sittingbourne, John James Dence, aged 58 years.

East Kent Gazette, 5th August 1916: All Persons having CLAIMS against the Estate of JOHN JAMES DENCE, late of Lynsted, Coal Merchant, &c., are required to send to me full particulars of such Claims, and all Persons INDEBTED to the Estate are requested to pay the amount of their respective Debts to me. Dated this 1st day of August, 1916. JOHN Dixon, Sittingbourne. Solicitor to the Executrix.
